Still upset that Warped tour is canceled? We at Uprise are continuing to help the metal community find alternatives this summer.

If you’re in Ontario this summer and love the beach, then head to Sandfest. The annual event is taking place at Sauble Beach from August 5th – 7th. For the most part it’s your standard all ages rock beach festival. It doesn’t have the hard metal feel but a rock festival at the beach in Augest is always fun.

What it lacks in hard core metal it does make up for in atmosphere. This is an event that you may not have the heaviest metals but it has yet to disappoint the rock community. Unfortunately the event is still in early productions so ticket prices and a serious performer list have yet to emerge. Sandfest’s site can be found at http://saublebeach.com/sandfest/

If you happen to be in British Columbia from July 15th -16th, then stop everything. Once you’ve halted the non heavy metal activities you were clearly doing head directly to 3315 Pleasant Valley Rd. Armstrong. Then you have no choice but to head into the Hassen Memorial Arena and get yourself tickets to the Armstrong Metal Festival.

Tickets to the two day event range anywhere from $120 for two days of heavy metal and access to camp grounds, while day passes are sitting at $90. The weekend is all ages but it has been stressed that any minors under the age of 16 must be under adult supervision at all times. The concert is proud to present more then 30 local bands but has not given details to who their international lineup will be.

The festival is only on it’s eighth year so there is no doubt it will deliver on it’s promises. I would recommend following their site to at: https://armstrongmetalfest.ca/

Lastly Mumford and sons is coming to Toronto in June. Tickets went on sale Last Friday at 10 am. The show is going to be live at the Molson Amphitheater June 13th. Tickets are still availble for $97 but won’t last long. For a show like this it may be worth it for many in the alternative music scene. Ickets can be found at http://www.stubhub.com/mumford-and-sons-tickets/performer/483958/?creative=107826692609&keyword=150900981_c&pgeo=5869&gcid=C12289X486

Of course there will be no replacement for Warped Tour but with these and may other music festivals coming up the void will be filled. In some cases the loss of Warped Tour can allow many local Canadian music events that would otherwise go unseen get a chance to flourish.
